Upplifunarsýningin Skrímslin bjóða heim opnaði 24. október 2015 í Gerðubergi menningarhúsi og hlaut mikla aðsókn. Í Gerðubergi stóð sýningin til 24. apríl 2016 og þaðan eru myndirnar hér á síðunni. Sýningin var hönnuð sem farandsýning og verður sett upp víðar. Næsti sýningarstaður er Norðurlandahúsið í Þórshöfn í Færeyjum, þar opnar ný gerð sýningarinnar 1. apríl 2017.
Sýningin byggir á sagnaheimi bókanna um litla skrímslið og stóra skrímslið eftir Áslaugu Jónsdóttur, Kalle Güettler og Rakel Helmsdal. Sýningarstjórar og hönnuðir voru Áslaug Jónsdóttir og Högni Sigurþórsson. Framleiðandi var Borgarborgarbókasafn Reykjavíkur undir stjórn Guðrúnar Dís Jónatansdóttur viðburðastjóra en verkefnastjórar voru Ásta Þöll Gylfadóttir og Stella Soffía Jóhannesdóttir. Auk þess kom fjöldi starfsfólks Borgarbókasafns að sýningunni.

Vorið 2018 hélt sýningin Skrímslin bjóða heim til Danmerkur Við sýningunni tók bókasafnið í Gentofte en starfsfólk þar lagaði hluta sýningarinnar að verkefninu Fang fortællingen – sýningaröð 10 mismunandi farandsýninga sem byggja allar á vinsælum barnabókmenntum. Þessi litla útgáfa sýningarinnar opnaði í Gentofte Hovedbibliotek haustið 2018 og er bókuð til ársins 2020. Sjá myndir neðst á þessari síðu eða hér.
Exhibition for children: The exhibition “Skrímslin bjóða heim” , Visit to the Monsters, was opened in Gerðuberg Culture House in Reykjavík on Oct. 24. 2015 and run through April 24. 2016. Thousands of guests visited the exhibition during that time. This interactive exhibition for children is based on the books about Little Monster and Big Monster by Áslaug Jónsdóttir, Kalle Güettler og Rakel Helmsdal. Art direction and exhibition design was executed by Áslaug Jónsdóttir and Högni Sigurþórsson. Producer was Reykjavík City Library / Gerðuberg Culture House. The exhibition was designed to travel and is next to be on display in The Nordic House in the Faroe Islands in April 2017.

In the spring 2018 the exhibition A Visit to the Monsters traveled to Denmark and was handed over to the Libraries of Gentofte, a municipality close to Copenhagen.There a smaller version of the exhibition was made, called Store Monster Lille Monster (‘Big Monster Little Monster’). The exhibition was adapted to the exhibition series Fang fortællingen (’Catch the Story’) – 10 traveling exhibitions for public libraries in Denmark, based on popular children’s books. The exhibition about Little Monster and Big Monster is booked until 2020. See photos from Denmark at the bottom of this page or here.
