Skrímslin í Svíþjóð | The Monster series in Sweden

Skrímsli í framboði! Skrímslin halda góðum dampi í Svíþjóð, en þar sér Kalle Güettler eða Kalle Skrivare um útgáfu eldri titla í samvinnu við Författares Bokmaskin. Frá árinu 2021 hefur forlagið Argasso hinsvegar gefið út nýju titlana í bókaflokknum. Ævinlega er talsverð eftirspurn eftir bókunum um skrímslin og á þessu ári komu út í endurútgáfu tveir titlar hjá Kalle Skrivare: Monster i mörkret og Monsterbråk. Á næsta ári er svo væntanleg ný bók um ævintýri skrímslanna. En skrímslin láta ekki þar við sitja, nú hafa þau tekið stefnuna á pólitík og framboð!

Í tilefni af kosningum til þings í Svíþjóð hafa bókasöfnin í sveitarfélaginu Norrtälje sett upp skemmtilegt verkefni til að kynna lýðræði fyrir börnum. Fimm flokkar bókapersóna bjóða sig fram til Barnens val 2026, en þær kosningar fara fram 15. júní til 5. september. Auðvitað var skorað á skrímslin til að bjóða sig fram og þau stofnuðu snarlega Monsterpartiet. Upplýsingafulltrúi flokksins er auðvitað Kalle Güettler og hér neðar má sjá hvar hann tekur lagið á kynningarfundi í bókasafninu í Hallstavik. Books and ballots! The monsters are still going strong in Sweden, where Kalle Güettler or Kalle Skrivare is responsible for publishing older titles in collaboration with the publishing cooperative Författares Bokmaskin. Since 2021, however, the publisher Argasso has been publishing the new titles in the book series in Sweden. There is always considerable demand for our books about monsters, and this year two older titles were reissued by Kalle Skrivare: Monsters in the Dark (Monster i mörkret) and Monster Squabbles (Monsterbråk). Next year, a new book about the adventures of the monsters will hopefully be published in Iceland, Sweden and the Faroe Islands. But the monsters are not stopping there, now they have taken the direction of politics and candidacy!

On the occasion of the parliamentary elections in Sweden this fall, the libraries in the municipality of Norrtälje have set up a fun project to introduce democracy to children. Five groups of book characters are running for Barnens val 2026 – The Childrens Choice 2026, which will take place from June 15 to September 5. Of course, the monsters were challenged to run and they founded the Monster Party at once. The party’s public relations officer is of course Kalle Güettler and below you can see him taking the stage at a briefing in the library in Hallstavik.
