♦ Skrímslaþing. Við höfundar bókanna um litla skrímslið og stóra skrímslið nýttum samfundi og góða daga Ósló til að vinna að nýjum bókum. Samband norsku barnabókahöfundanna léði okkur húsnæði fyrir vinnufundina og tók höfðinglega á móti okkur í Garmanngården sem hýsir Rithöfundasamband Norðmanna: Forfatterforeningen, Kritikerlaget, Oversetterforeningen, Barne- og ungdomsbokforfatterne og Dramatikerforbundet. Við skrímslin þökkum ekki síst Ellen Liland, framkvæmdastjóra hjá BU fyrir gestrisni og vinsemd.

♦ Monster meeting. We, the three Nordic authors of the Monster series: Áslaug Jónsdóttir, Kalle Güettler and Rakel Helmsdal, met in Oslo last week, as we were nominated to The Nordic Council Children’s and Young People’s Literature Prize 2013. We used the opportunity to set up a workshop, working on new ideas and manuscripts. We were so fortunate to get a workroom in the fabulous historical building Garmanngården, dating from around 1650 or even as early as 1622. It is now the offices of the Norwegian Writers’ Union and other writers’ associations. We would especially like to thank Ellen Liland, administrator af the Union of Norwegian Children’s book’s Authors for great hospitality and kindness.
