Myndin rifjaðist upp fyrir mér þegar ég sá í dag raffíneraða mynd eftir Banksy: Jesus with Shopping Bags (2005).
♦ Illustration: This is an old illustration (1998) I made for the long gone newspaper Dagur. For a short while I wrote a column in the paper and this collage accompanied an article about the Lutheran confirmation – the Icelandic style. The confirmand is usually showered with money and expensive presents at a big family gathering. For an 14-year-old it is almost impossible to turn down such a good deal, whether a religious youngster or not. The collage was made from the typical sesonal and associated advertisments.
Anyway, I saw Banksy’s elegant Jesus with Shopping Bags (from 2005) on the internet today so I remembered my own crucifix of the similar kind. And it is Good Friday.
