Rósir í Róm: Gleðilegt sumar! Eins og vera ber hefur sumardagurinn fyrsti minnt bæði á vetur og sumarvon, með vorhret á glugga og bjartar sólarglennur til skiptis. Nýkomin heim úr ferðalagi til Rómarborgar fletti ég myndum og staldra við rósir í Farnesi-görðunum á Palatinohæð. Og græna litinn sem er hollur fyrir augun, eins og allir vita. Takk fyrir veturinn!

Roses in Rome: Happy First Day of Summer! The first Thursday after the 18th of April is the first day of summer in Iceland, according to the Old Norse Calendar, dividing the year into two seasons, summer and winter. As so often before on this day, the weather has been cold and it even snowed a bit. But then again the sun came out, bright and warming … I’m just back from a trip to Rome and as I was flipping through my photos I found these roses in the Farnese Gardens on the Palatine Hill a nice pick. Farewell Winter!
