Vorið í loftinu: Veðrið í dag var milt og sólríkt, eins og það gerist best á vorin, fullt af loforðum og lygilegum vorboðum. Meginpart dagsins mátti sjá þetta ljósfyrirbæri: hjásólir eða parhelia þar sem ljósdílar renna á undan og eftir sól við ákveðin skilyrði. Stundum myndast heilir baugar, rosabaugar. „Sjaldan er gíll fyrir góðu nema úlfur á eftir renni“ – en úlfurinn rann á eftir sólu í allan dag. Í dag bárust svo hinsvegar þau sorgartíðindi að ný covid-smit hefðu greinst á Íslandi eftir dásamlegt hlé frá pestinni. Að sama skapi tóku harðir jarðskjálftar sig aftur upp í nótt og í dag. Við bíðum átekta, vonum það besta.

Sundogs: This phenomenon: a halo around the sun, or sun-dogs, were very clear in the sky this wonderful bright day of spring, March 7th. My eyes also wandered towards the rough mountain ridge of the Reykjanes peninsula wherefrom a swarm of earthquakes has been shaking us since February 24th. (More information on the earthquakes here). Warnings of expected volcanic eruptions in Reykjanes in the near future have been issued, although the geologic time scale is quite different from ours. The eruption could happen quite close to Reykjavík, but we wait and hope for the best.
