Gleði! Við vinirnir og vinnufélagarnir í skrímslaþríeykinu hittumst á netfundi í síðustu viku og fórum yfir handrit sem við höfum átt í handraðanum. Við erum orðin því vön að endurskoðun – jafnvel þegar við teljum að allt sé klappað og kárt – sé mikilvægur þáttur af vinnunni við skrímslabækurnar, enda eru sögurnar iðulega afrakstur hugmynda sem kviknuðu mörgum árum áður en þær hafa komið út í bókarformi.

Við söknum þess auðvitað að geta ekki ferðast á milli landa til að hittast og vinna að nýjum bókarhugmyndum. Í gegnum tíðina höfum við átt skemmtilega og skapandi vinnustofufundi í Tórshavn og Mobacken og Melaleiti og reyndar víðar. Vonandi náum við endurfundum þegar pestarfárinu líkur. Þangað til verða samskipti á netinu að duga.

Þessa dagana legg ég drög að vinnu við myndlýsingar og umbrot á nýju bókinni okkar sem vonandi kemur út á næsta ári, 2021, á þremur tungumálum: íslensku, færeysku og sænsku.

Joy! Last week I met with my friends and colleagues in the monster-team at an online meeting. We reviewed a manuscript we have had under way and we had a good discussion, as always. We have become accustomed to the fact that these revisions – although we at some point have considered the manuscript all done – are an important part of the work with our book series, as the stories often are the result of ideas that sparked many years before they are published in a book form.

Of course we miss not being able to travel between countries to meet and work on new book ideas. We have had great fun and creative days at our workshops in Tórshavn and Mobacken and Melaleiti. Hopefully we will be able to meet again and work together face to face in near and safer future. Until then, the online correspondence will have to do.

I will soon start to work on illustrations and layout of our new book, which is planned to be published next year, 2021, in three languages: Icelandic, Faroese and Swedish.
