„Vildt charmerende“ | More reviews in Denmark

Book review in DenmarkThe Danish Library Central, DBC, publishes reviews of new books and recommendations for the Danish libraries. Monsterklammeri (Skrímslaerjur / Monster Squabbles) received a good review:

“The books on Little Monster and Big Monster are extremely charming, and this book is no exception. There are big feelings at stake between the two good friends who are experiencing a day when things are not going all too well. Something kids can relate to. It invites discussion about disagreement, anger, bad conscience and forgiveness and the feeling that even if you quarrel a single day, you are still good friends. Both the pictures and the text play on the emotions with wild drawings and big, bold letters when something is of special importance.”

The book series about Little Monster and Big Monster is published in Denmark by Torgard in Copenhagen, translated by Hugin Eide. Read more reviews here.

Hrós í Politiken | Four hearts for Monster Squabbles

Book review in DenmarkThe Danish newspaper Politiken published a fine review of Monsterklammeri (Skrímslaerjur / Monster Squabbles) this week. The heading reads “Monstrously wonderful!”, as Big Monster swings across the page. Critic Steffen Larsen reads illustrations with somewhat exceptional attention and passes 4 hearts to the two monsters with a nice note:

“The books about the two friends are first class. The subtle action is told in simple, striking images, bright colors and coarse figures. It is incredible how much the massive bodies can express with small simple twists of hands, mouths and noses. They dance through the story with light-footed, clunky steps.” ♥♥♥♥

The book series about Little Monster and Big Monster is published in Denmark by Torgard in Copenhagen, translated by Hugin Eide. For the record: the original series are created and published in three languages, the mother tongues of the three authors: Icelandic, Faroese and Swedish.
